Help URRR, Trout Unlimited, and the Town of Vinton to plant almost 350 trees along Glade Creek along Tinker Avenue in Vinton. The goal of the project is to protect Glade Creek and increase the urban tree canopy in a valley-wide effort to sustain a healthy urban forest.
Exhibitions and activities will be held throughout the Grandin Village area with local business’ involvement (including a feature film at the Grandin Theater), environmental groups represented and with music, art, food and more to be included as reasons to come out and join the fun.
The Smith Mountain Lake Association (SMLA), Tri-County Lake Administrative
Commission (TLAC), and The Smith Mountain Lake Regional Chamber of Commerce
(SMLRCC) are pleased to announce the 23rd annual "Take Pride in Smith Mountain
Lake" Clean-Up. This cooperative Clean-Up event is held to provide an opportunity for all
members of our community to help remove debris from Smith Mountain Lake and keep our
lake clean.
This year's Clean-Up begins at 8:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 1, 2010, and will continue
until 4:00 p.m. Volunteers throughout the community are encouraged to participate. Twelve
locations have generously provided drop-off sites for volunteers to leave debris.
Please click on the title link above for more information on the event and the registration form. Although, the stated registration deadline is April 16, registrations will still be accepted after that time. Forms can be mailed to P. O. Box 55,
Moneta, VA 24121, or faxed to (540) 721-4450.
